FAQ

How should I look after my Burma jewel?

To ensure your jewel maintains its sparkle, be sure to take care of it.

Any jewel in rhodium silver, gold plated, gold and set with BurmalitesTM or fine gems, can be quickly and easily cleaned by yourself.

First dip it into warm soapy water and clean it delicately using a brush with soft bristles and PH-neutral soap.

Then rinse it carefully in warm water, dry and polish it using a soft cloth.

For articles including cultured or synthetic pearls, we recommend cleaning the pearls by wiping them delicately with a soft cloth, or take your jewel to a Burma boutique. Our teams in the boutique and in our jewellery workshops will take the greatest care of it.

How should I take care of my jewel day by day?

To look after your jewel, please adhere to the following recommendations:

We recommend that you choose your jewels according to the activity you will be undertaking. Bearing this in mind, it is best not to wear your jewels in the following situations:

  • Intense thermal impact (sports activities, beach, pool or swimming)
  • Contact with corrosive products (gardening, DIY, domestic chores)
  • Contact with acidic substances (perfumes and make-up)

Your jewel should be stored in its Burma case to protect it from impacts and scratches. It is not recommended that several jewels be placed in the same case, as they might scratch each other.

We advise you not to polish a gold jewel more than two or three times in its lifetime, as polishing will remove a thin layer of metal from the surface of the jewel, through the combined use of brushes and abrasive pastes.

Concerning silver and yellow-gold plated silver plated silver jewels, it is possible to have your jewel rhodium or gold-plated whenever you wish.

We invite you to visit one of our boutiques twice a year with your Burma jewel: the staff there will be happy to clean it using an ultrasound machine.

Is it possible to adjust a Burma jewel?

It is possible to adjust the size of some Burma jewels for greater comfort, according to the type of article. The feasibility of sizing will depend both on the type of design of your jewel and the sizing required.

We recommend taking your jewel to one of the Burma boutiques to check whether it can be done.
